Monday, August 12, 2019

Rockville, Md – August 12, 2019 – NetComm Inc., an innovative leader in cloud-based data analytics and workflow management, has secured a patent allowance for a method of digitally signing documents using biometric data in blockchain or public key infrastructure (PKI) technology.

“As BitCoin is to banking, Beacon’s Digital Signature is to PKI,” said Laurel Fielding, NetComm’s Chief Technology Officer. “We are basically providing a way to decentralize the creation of digital signatures, without reducing security. This is a huge plus for organizations who don’t want to invest in a costly PKI infrastructure but require the legality of a digital signature in support of business operations.”

NetComm’s signature software platform, the FedRAMP-certified, cloud-based Beacon SaaS suite, is used by organization’s to manage internal worfklows and processes, as well as to  manage, measure, and report on critical data within multiple business domains, such as Finance and HR.   While Beacon already supports integration with enterprise level PKI in support of digital signature creation. Now, Beacon can create digital signatures without PKI integration using NetComm’s new decentralized digital signature creation process.

As industry continues to shift key processes to the digital space, there’s increasing demand for non-repudiated digital signatures. NetComm’s patent application covers a range of closely related approaches, including the use of biometric data.
